Mike has spent over 20 years designing and building custom pools through his company, NorCal Pool Productions, based in California. From luxury estates to private resorts, he's built pools all over the world, earning a reputation for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and an eye for how outdoor spaces should feel after the sun goes down.
It was always the lighting that made the difference. The best pool Mike ever built didn't look its best at noon. It looked its best at 9pm, when the water glowed, the landscape came alive, and the entire backyard became a place people didn't want to leave.
With over 20 years building custom pools worldwide through NorCal Pool Productions, Mike brings a builder's eye to every lighting design. He knows which lights go where because he's been building the pools and patios they attach to for decades. Now based in Costa Rica, he personally designs every Aurora Vida lighting plan from scratch.

Then he fell in love with Costa Rica.
Mike started visiting Costa Rica years ago and kept coming back. The jungles, the coastline, the pace of life. The more time he spent in the country, the more he saw an opportunity to do what he does best: help people make their outdoor spaces look incredible.
Costa Rica has some of the most beautiful homes and pools in the world. Mike wanted to bring the same level of lighting design he'd been doing in California to homeowners, resorts, and builders across the country.
So he started Aurora Vida Global.
